A native of Minnesota, Dr. Officer graduated from the University of Minnesota with a B.A. cum laude. He was elected to Phi Kappa Phi and Phi Beta Kappa while at the University of Minnesota. Following graduation Dr. Officer attended Georgetown University Medical School, where he graduated cum laude. He was also admitted to the Prestigious Medical Honor Society Alpha Omega Alpha at Georgetown.
Following graduation from Georgetown he was a Fellow for one year at the Mayo Graduate School of Medicine. He then went on Active Duty with the United States Navy, including deployment to Lebanon.
Following release from active duty Dr. Officer continued his post graduate training at Georgetown, completing a residency in Internal Medicine and a fellowship in Nephrology. He has been in practice in Fredericksburg since 1991.
Dr. Officer is certified in Internal Medicine & Nephrology. He is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians, a member of the Renal Physicians Association and actively participates in the Maintenance of Certification Program of the American Board of Internal Medicine.

Our dialysis centers provide in-center hemodialysis treatments three times a week for our End Stage Renal Disease patients.
The Fresenius Medical Care Home Therapies Unit is a free standing unit conveniently located next to our 101 Park Hill office for patients who choose to do dialysis at home. Our physicians offer all home dialysis options, including peritoneal dialysis and home hemodialysis.
